Our centres & partners

YYM students attend one of our centres in Leeds and Hull. Both operate out of specialist music centres, which provide the ideal environment for our bespoke music programmes.

Our Leeds Centre

Our Leeds centre is based within Leeds Conservatoire in the heart of Leeds Cultural Quarter. YYM students are able to take advantage of specialist practice rooms, rehearsal rooms and classrooms in this leading specialist performing arts conservatoire. Orchestra-standard percussion equipment and Steinway pianos are available for student use. At lunchtime, students have access to the conservatoire’s cafe and communal areas for socialising or taking a break.

Our Hull Centre

Our Hull centre is based in the Albemarle music centre in the heart of the city, a state-of-the-art music facility purpose built for Hull Music Service in 2007. The centre has a 300 seat auditorium, a 100 seat large performance space and 8 fully-equipped practice rooms as well as a music production suite, with YYM classes taking place across all of these spaces. At lunchtime, students can relax in the light-filled atrium breakout area.

Our Partners

YYM is overseen by a unique partnership comprising Opera North, Leeds Conservatoire and Music Mark, working in partnership with the Music Hubs in the Yorkshire and Humber region and South Asian Arts UK. We also receive financial support from Purposeful Ventures.
