We were delighted to receive the news recently that our wonderful Leeds composition teacher, Bethan Morgan-Williams, is the 2026 recipient of the prestigious Ernst von Siemens Composer Prize, awarded in recognition of her exceptional body of compositional work.
Bethan’s work explores how systems and intuition interact to generate musical material. Her music plays with expectation and variance, reflecting the restless energy of 21st-century life.
Her works have been commissioned and performed by many internationally acclaimed soloists and ensembles, and her music has performed by orchestras including the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the London symphony orchestra, amongst others.
Congratulations Bethan on this incredible achievement!
